Constant numbers

Postby Giselle1B » Sun Feb 03, 2019 10:45 pm

Are there any constant numbers we have to know for formulas of heat and work? If so, can someone explain them to me. Thank you.

We are provided the constants and equations. Ones specific for this chapter are the ideal gas constants, ideal gas law, heat, the two work equations, etc.

The ideal gas constant and the heat capacity for water, as well as the conversion factor between atmospheres and joules are the constants that we should know. However, everything is provided for us are on the constants and equations, so no memorization is needed.

All constants that we need to know will be listed on the sheet that we are given on test day.

Any constant numbers, for example, Avogadro's number, the gas constant or Boltzmann's constant(etc.) will be given to us on the equation sheet that we get before each test, so you do not technically need to memorize them. Although once we have used them enough you probably will.
