What exactly is an ideal gas?

I do not believe there is like a specific ideal gas, it is just a theoretical way to describe the gas. It means that it obeys the gas laws and therefore easier to analyze.

Hello!

An ideal gas is a gas that:
1. takes up no volume
2. has negligible interactions between different particles

This is just an assumption, as not real gas is actually an ideal gas. However, it is used for calculations, since they obey the ideal gas law Pv=nRT.

We assume gases to be ideal gases for the sake of calculations.
Ideal gases take up no volume and have interactions with other molecules that are insignificant.
