Kinetics is the study of the rate of reactions and how they are dependent on certain factors such as heat and time. Thermodynamics relates more to looking at the initial conditions and final conditions of a reaction.

We haven't gone over kinetics but is more about rate while thermodynamics is more like the transference of energy.

You can think of kinetics as studying how fast a rxn will happen while thermodynamics is studying whether a rxn is favorable or not

For right now, with energy transfer and stuff, kinetics isn't really relevant, right? I don't believe we've really talked about rates.

Kinetics has to do with the rate of reactions and factors the influence activation energy, like catalysts and heat and such. We have not gone in depth about this concept yet but I'd expect that we will soon.

We haven't gone over kinetics yesterday but he mentioned it a little in class to emphasize that delta G could tell us about a reaction's spontaneity (but a spontaneous reaction isn't necessarily a fast one because to find out about a reaction's speed/rate you'd have to consider kinetics and not thermodynamics).

Kinetics is more interested in rate, whereas thermodynamics considers more only final and initial.

Kinetics is the study of how temp and catalysts change the rate of a reaction.
