Definitionally, adiabatic systems are systems where there is no heat transfer taking place. So yes, the q for adiabatic systems will always equal 0.

An adiabatic system is defined as a system in which no heat transfer can take place so q is zero.

Yes q will always be zero as in an adiabatic system there cannot be exchange of heat between the walls of the system

Since this post comes from 4B.9, I was wondering if someone could explain why q<0 is false when discussing an adiabatic system? I understand that q would need to be equal to 0 because no energy is transferred as heat, but could it be less than zero?

Yes, q will always be zero in adiabatic systems due to the fact that there are no heat transfers released.
