## Reversible vs Irreversible

isochoric/isometric: $\Delta V = 0$
isothermal: $\Delta T = 0$
isobaric: $\Delta P = 0$

What is the difference between isothermal reversible expansion vs irreversible expansion?

For isothermal reversible expansion, the change is occurring over infinitesimally small steps. On the other hand, irreversible expansion occurs instantly over a constant pressure.

Here's a couple more differences:
- T is constant in a reversible pathway but changes along an irreversible pathway
- V increases and P decreases during a reversible run but for irreversible work is done against a constant P
- more work is done in a reversible reaction than irreversible

Then explain the graph of pressure vs volume of the reversible and irreversible expansion?
