What's an example of an isolated system? What equation for q would you use for an isolated system?

An isolated system is one that does not exchange energy or matter with its surroundings. An example would be an insulated beaker. Because there is no work done in an isolated system, the q could be found with U = w + q

I think of like an insulated thermos. No energy escaping or put in the form of heat and no matter escaping or added.
