HW Problem 8.93

Postby Derek_Petrosian_3I » Wed Jan 18, 2017 2:14 pm

a) Calculate the work that must be done against the atmosphere for the expansion of the gaseous products in the combustion of 1.00 mol C6H6 (l) at 25 degrees Celsius and 1 bar.

In the solutions manual, the products of this combustion are CO2 gas and liquid water. Why is water liquid here and not gas?

The products of a combustion reaction are always carbon dioxide and water.
