Work vs. Work Function

Postby Jasmine Wu 1L » Wed Jan 10, 2018 1:26 pm

Just out of curiosity, does work (as defined in Chapter 8.2 in the book) have anything to do with the work function we learned about in CHEM 14A?

The work function has to do with the amount of work required to remove one electron from an atom.

The work function is also the energy required to remove one electron.
