Does Work of expansion always have a change in volume? and does this mean that the pressure is always constant for our calculations?

Yes. The definition of expansion work is "the work arising from a change in the volume of a system." The formula for expansion work is given by w = -(Pex)(delta V), where Pex is a constant external pressure.

That's correct, expansion work requires that volume is changed as it is the work as a result of the change in volume. The pressure is constant as well, as Edgar said, since it is built into the equation.
