Isobaric and Isochoric
Are we expected to know the definitions of isobaric and isochoric? I don't recall ever going over these terms in class.

You might be asked to find entropy of a system given information about the system. So, this may include terminology like this.
BTW,
Isobaric: pressure remains constant
Isochoric: volume remains constant
Isothermic: temperature remains constant/the same

Just remember "iso" means same (equal measurements), "baric" is for pressure, and "choric" is for volume.

I think that it would be best to know them in case they come up on the exam. Isobaric is pressure, isothermal is where temperature is held constant, and isochoric is where volume is held constant.

It is also useful to know that in an isochoric system work is equal to 0. In isothermal delta U is 0.

I believe knowing these terms would be important background to know regarding various changes to a system through temperature, pressure, etc
