Conceptual Limiting Reactant

Postby Arianna Zhou 1D » Fri Oct 20, 2023 4:04 am

For conceptual questions on the limiting reactant Audio-Visual Focus Module and exams, can there ever be no limiting reactant or more than one limiting reactant in a real world scenario?

In a real world scenario, yes there will always be one limiting reactant and one excess reactant considering of course you have multiple reactants and not just one reactant in which a limiting and excess reactant would not exist. You can't have multiple limiting reactants. There's always just one limiting and one excess reactant unless there is an infinite amount of the reactant available make it so that it would never be consumed which is never the case. There is always a finite supply of reactants.
