two-step reaction limiting reactant problems

Hi I'm not really sure how to address the two-step reaction when attempting to solve limiting reactant problems. Can someone help me with this example please.

Step 1: CH4+H20 ---> CO+3H2
Step 2: CO+H20 ---> CO2+H2

forgot to include the rest of the problem:

Given 0.036 g of methane and 0.108 g of water, how much hydrogen, in grams, is produced?

Hi, so in this example, the CH4 is the limiting reactant in step 1. You would find the moles of CH4 (.00225) and the moles of H2O (.006) and calculate the moles of CO created. From that you would use the moles of CO and remaining H2O in step 2. Whichever one of those is the limiting reactant there will determine how much H is produced. Hope that helps!
