### G25

Does anyone understand G25? It is about doubling the volume of the solution 90 times.

The question is basically asking whether extremely dilute solutions can affect a person. To figure this out, it asks you to double the volume 90 times and see how many molecules are left in the final solution.

We start by figuring out how many molecules are in 10 ml of solution.
10ml x .10mol/1000 ml x 6.023E23/1mol = 6.023E20 molecules

Then we find out how many times we need to double the solution in order to end with 1 because log1 = 0 and we want to end with zero molecules to disprove the claim that dilute solutions can have an effect.
6.023E26 x (1/2)^n = 1

Because 0 molecules are left in the final solution at only 69 doubles, we know that 0 are left after 90 doubles as well. Therefore, the practitioners claim that very dilute solutions can have an effect is incorrect in this case.
