Question M17 from 6th Edition

Hi! I was having some trouble with this problem. I have found the molar mass of XA to be 338 g/mol, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

The acid HA (where A stands for an unknown group of atoms) has molar mass 231 g/mol. HA reacts with the base XOH (molar mass 125 g/mol) to produce H2O and the salt XA. In one experiment, 2.45 g of HA reacts with 1.50 g of XOH to form 2.91 g of XA. What is the percentage yield of the reaction?

First, solve for the limiting reactant by converting grams of both of your reactants (HA and XOH) into moles of reactants using the molar masses given. Then, using the mole ratio (which in this case is 1:1 so it can be disregarded) solve for the limiting reactant, in this case HA. Convert the moles of HA into moles of XA and then grams of XA using the molar mass you previously solved for (338g). Finally, divide the grams of XA given (the actual yield, in this case 2.91 g) by the grams of XA you solved for (the theoretical yield) to find the percentage yield of the rxn.
