The first test is in about 1 week. What will the text cover? Will the test take place in discussion sections?

I know that the fundamentals will definitely be on the test according to my TA, but I'm not sure if there will be additional material. We may find out as the week progresses depending on what Lavelle lectures on. The tests are taken in your assigned discussion for the full 50 minutes.

Also to add onto this question, does anyone know if we're allowed to bring graphing calculators to test 1? I know on the syllabus it says that graphing calculators are not allowed but I'm wondering if that applies to test 1 as well

To clarify is the fundamentals section just sections E, F, G, H, L1-2, M or should we also be reading all the sections before that?

In my discussion today, my TA said that we'd go over topics on next weeks test. He then went over the sections you listed above but not anything before that. So I don't think questions specifically about previous sections will be on the test but it would be good to understand all of the fundamentals.

I'm pretty sure that we'll only be able to use a scientific calculator instead of a graphing calculator for most, if not all, of the tests for this class.
