### Fundamentals M.17

HA + XOH makes H2O + XA

I solved for the moles of the reactants: 0.0106 mol HA and 0.012 mol XOH. So HA is limiting. Meaning 0.0106 moles of XA are being produced. I need theoretical yield in grams now, but I need molar mass of XA for that right? How do I find that? Or if I'm wrong somewhere else let me know.

Molar mass of XA = total mass - mass of H2O

Because of the conservation of mass, you know that the mass on the reactants side has to equal the mass on the products side. So you add the molar masses of HA and XOH and subtract the molar mass of H2O to get the molar mass of XA.

It's the molar mass of HA + XOH = (250+125)

Sorry I meant total molar mass - molar mass of H2O

Molar mass of XA = Molar mass of A + Molar mass of X
Molar mass of A = (Molar mass of HA - 1.008 g/mol H)
Molar mass of X = (Molar mass of XOH - 17.008 g/mol OH)

Yeah this is lw more simple because (XOH + HA) - H2O = XA
