L 35 Textbook Typo  [ENDORSED]

Postby Jordan Ziegler 2J » Sun Oct 06, 2019 10:19 pm

Hi conscientious student! If you're reading this, that means you're doing your homework. Keep going, you got this. :)

Anyways, I just wanted to let everyone working from the looseleaf textbook that there is a typo on the question L35.

The textbook reads (unbalanced equation):
Fe + Br --> FeBr2
FeBr2 --> Fe3Br8
FeBr2 + Na2CO3 --> NaBr + CO2 + Fe3O4

The third line should actually read: Fe3Br8 + Na2CO3 --> NaBr + CO2 + Fe3O4

This is something you can confirm in the solutions guide, just wanted to put the answer here too.

For L 35, what does the unit t in 2.50 t of NaBr mean?

@ ATingin_3I the t would stand for ton, and 1 ton equates to 1000kg
