About Finding Limiting Reactant
When you're trying to find the limiting reactant and see which reactant makes the least amount of product, do you have to convert the moles of product to grams or can you just leave it as moles?

Re: About Finding Limiting Reactant
You could leave it in moles or convert to grams, either one, because you're trying to find the limiting reactant, so how much product you have will not be in your final answer. However, you need to be able to compare the different amounts of product that would theoretically be created using each amount of reactant they give you, so you would either convert all your hypothetical amounts of your product into moles or leave them all in grams.

Re: About Finding Limiting Reactant
Honestly, you can leave it either in moles or convert to grams since you are only asking to find the limiting reactant. The limiting reactant would just be which reactant produces a lesser amount of product (moles or grams).
But do keep in mind that if the question asks for how much product it can produce (in grams) make sure to convert.

Yeah, I agree with the others, you can have it in either moles or grams since it won't affect the final answer. Unless the question specifically asks for the amount of product in grams, I find it easiest to just leave it moles for the sake of finding the limiting reactant.

When finding limiting reactant, converting to mole makes the process lot easier. However, if the final answer should be in grams, you should convert moles to gram.

Re: About Finding Limiting Reactant
You should always convert to moles when looking for the limiting reactant because there is no way to tell from looking at the grams of substance what the limiting reactant is. You also need moles in order to use the mole ratios of the balanced equation to determine what the limiting reactant is and additionally how much product can be made from the given amount in grams.

You can leave it in either moles or grams. Unless the question itself asks for either grams or moles.

Re: About Finding Limiting Reactant
I personally found comparing moles much easier, as you have to keep in mind of the coefficients in balanced equation as well.
