### Review Session Concept Clarification

There's this T/F statement in the practice MT. It is question 1E. Why is the statement "removing heat from a system is exothermic, so temperature must decrease" false? I remember someone said to refer to the graph during the review session, but I don't quite understand the concept behind it.

Just because you remove heat from the system it doesn't necessarily mean that the temperature will change. If you look at the phase change diagram, if you remove a certain amount of energy from the flat part of the graph, the temperature will remain constant. Like how if constantly added energy to a pot of boiling water, the temperature would still be 100 degrees Celsius.
