### Extensive vs Intensive

For an extensive property the larger the sample, the more heat is required to raise its temperature by a given amount. (Heat capacity)
What exactly is a definition for an intensive property? (Specific heat capacity)

So for heat capacity, the more substance you have the more heat is required to raise it by 1 degree C.
However, for specific heat capacity, it does not take into account how much substance you have because it is the heat required to raise 1 gram of a substance by 1 degree C.

intensive property would mean that the value calculated would not not be dependent on the amount of substance. A good example of this is an electrical cell. When we calculate cell potential it is always the same because it is an intensive property

An intensive property does not rely on the mass of the substance while an extensive property does.
