Delta U Formulas

Postby 104969854 » Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:48 pm

Can someone go over the delta U formulas for isobaric and isometric systems? would we use the same Cv and Cp values for ideal gases as we would when solving for enthalpies?

Isobaric means pressure is constant but that doesn't affect the delta U formula.
Isochoric means volume is constant which means work = 0 so delta U = q.

To clarify, Isochoric means Isovolumetric which I think you meant but I don't know what isometric is.

Isometric/isovolumetric/isochoric are interchangeable.
