## delta U for reversible [ENDORSED]

### delta U for reversible

I understand that delta U is zero for an isothermal expansion, but what if it is reversible? Will delta U=0 in that case?

For an ideal gas, its internal energy is entirely a function of its temperature. Whether reversible or irreversible, change in internal energy will be zero if isothermal.

If a system is isothermal, that means that q=0, so if the substance is reversible or irreversible, the internal energy change will still be 0-- this is because there is no change in heat!
