U= 3/2nRT

Postby Layal Suboh 1I » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:15 pm

Hello,

When is the equation U= 3/2 nrT used? Is it only applicable when the system is isothermal? Also, for this question, is the volume constant and pressure changing?

Thanks!

i think this is used when you have to calculate the heat capacity of an ideal gas at a constant volume

the reaction will most likely not be isothermal.
(you can look at question 4C3)
