Enthalpy vs. Heat

Can someone explain what the difference is between enthalpy and heat? I'm a little confused between the two.

Heat is the transfer of energy that occurs with an increase in temperature. Enthalpy, however, is the change in heat at constant pressure. Enthalpy is also a state function. Both occur when there is work being done to the system.

Heat is defined to be the transfer of energy due to a temperature difference. Enthalpy was defined to be the heat released or absorbed in chemical reactions and physical changes at a constant pressure.

To add onto the responses above, that is why when a reaction occurs under conditions of constant pressure, the heat given off/absorbed by the reaction is the change in enthalpy of the system.

Enthalpy is when pressure is held constant.
