Outline question

Postby Katie 3H » Fri Mar 11, 2022 10:30 pm

Predict which of two systems has the greater entropy, given their compositions and conditions. This is an objective on the outline, but what does it mean? I'm not sure.

Given the conditions of the system, we can determine which has a larger amount of entropy depending on the phase of the system (gas, liquid, solid), the size of the molecules, and the order of the molecules (more organized molecules vs disordered molecules).

I believe it is talking about conditions such as the phase state. For example, a system of gas has higher entropy than a system of liquid.

I think its referring to finding the entropy based on the phase state, size of molecule, and the order of the molecules. For example a solid would have lower entropy than a gas.

I think it wants you to calculate the entropy based on the phase state along with other conditions

its talking about the phase state.
