What is Kb in Entropy? Entropy Clarification?

In Chem14A, Ka and Kb dealt with acid and base equilibrium; however, I don't understand how this relates to entropy and how we're supposed to derive this value for calculations?
Also, I don't fully understand the concept of entropy. I understand that it is randomness within a system, but in lecture it was mentioned that increasing entropy is favorable because it leads to equilibrium. Why is that so?

In regards to entropy, I think Kb is Boltzmann's constant, which has the value of 1.3807 x 10^-23 J/K.

Regarding entropy and equilibrium it seems that entropy correlates to the amount of states you can be in. Thus a low entropy value means some unit of energy is densely packed in a small volume while a high entropy value means a unit of energy is able to occupy a larger region/state which makes it more stable. Thus high entropy is favored for equilibrium.
