Calculator Overflow?

Postby Angela 1K » Wed Jan 31, 2018 4:42 pm

When trying to do 9.25 in the homework, I was trying to input in my calculator but it showed an overflow error. I'm assuming that the number was too big for my scientific calculator to handle. I'm wondering what we would do during a test if this problem were to occur?

That will happen often when working calculations related to statistical mechanics such as the Boltzmann entropy. You may simply leave your answer in the form your calculator was able to handle.
