Equations

Hi! I'm having a hard time keeping all of these equations straight in my head. Some equations are only for reversible reactions, some can only be used when the pressure is constant, some when the temperature is constant. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to keep all the equations straight or a comprehensive list that does a good job explaining when to use each one?

I'd say your best bet is to familiarize yourself with the Constants and Equations sheet, since that'll be given to us on the test. As for which equations are used in a given circumstances, practicing questions helps the most.

Another useful way to memorize the different types of equations, is to see what factors ARE changing. For example, in the equation delta S = Cm/v*ln(T2/T1), we know that the volume is constant because it is specific heat for a constant volume. We know that temperature is changing, and since pressure is not mentioned we can assume that pressure is constant.
