### Change in the Entropy of the Universe

Why is the total change in entropy 0 for reversible processes? Also is the total change in entropy the same thing as the change in entropy of the universe?

### Re: Change in the Entropy of the Universe

So the total entropy change 0 for reversible processes is 0 because essentially it's like the entropy of the system with the entropy of its surroundings. When the system increases or decreases in entropy, then its surroundings must do the opposite in a reversible process. If it can go back to its original state in a reversible process, then the total change in entropy must be 0 since it's as if it didn't change in "disorder" per say.
