What qualities/characteristics of a molecule or a substance increase entropy?

Entropy is higher for molecules that are in a more mobile phase (gas>liquid>solid) due to how far apart and mobile particles are relative to each other (also because q or heat is higher in that order of phases). Entropy is also higher for large, complicated molecules because there are more microstates in a 3-D space that the molecule can occupy; to clarify further, there are more ways that the atoms within that molecule can contort themselves into multiple shapes. The more complicated a molecule, the higher the entropy because the range of motion that the parts may be in is larger. Using this logic, gasses have the higest entropy, then liquids and then solids.

Entropy is, in simple terms, how many ways an object can position itself. Therefore, the higher the entropy is based on how complicated the molecule is. The more complicated, the more shapes it can form, and therefore the more entropy. This then means that entropy goes in the order gas>liquid>solid, because a gas molecule is less compact and can occupy more position in space than a solid or liquid.

entropy can be thought of as the ways an object can be positioned in. more complex molecules have more microstate possibilities and therefore they would have a higher entropy.

Gasses would have the highest entropy since a molecule can hold more positions in this state, then liquids would have the second highest entropy followed by solids

Entropy is based on the amount of positions that an object can occupy. Therefore, gasses and complex molecules have the greatest entropies, while solids and simple molecules have lower entropies.

Adding heat, increasing temperature, making the substance a gas, increasing the volume of the substance all increase entropy

Gases will have the highest entropy because they have more possible positions, compared to solids and gases.
