Can anyone explain to me how does degeneracy of a system relate to the amount of entropy a system can own?

Degeneracy refers to the possible states an object can have. So, the greater the degeneracy, the greater the entropy of the system.

The greater the degeneracy, the more disorder a system has, therefore resulting in a great value of entropy.
