Entropy equation

Can someone explain the concept behind the ∆S = q/T equation? I'm confused on what it really means and when to use it.

The change in entropy is calculated by dividing the amount of energy transferred as heat (reversibly) with the temperature
(when the temperature is constant). This equation tells us that entropy increases more at lower temperatures than higher temperatures for a given amount of heat transferred.

You use this equation if only heat and temperature are given in the problem. If you do not have enough information to solve for entropy with the other equations involving constant pressure, temperature, or volume, this might be the one to use.
