### Reversible expansion

What does it mean for a something to be an isothermal reversible expansion or irreversible free expansion?

An isothermal reversible expansion is when the temperature of the system stays the same as the Energy does not change. This is due to it happening so slowly that heat flow can enter the system and replace the lost energy.

An irreversible free expansion tells you that there will be constant pressure, so work = -P x delta V.

isothermal reversible expansion is at constant temperature and reversible expansion is at constant pressure
