### melting point and freezing point

Is the melting point temperature the same as the freezing point temperature because for problem 4I.7 part b they use the freezing point temperature as the melting point temperature. Is this specifically for C2H5OH or is it for all compounds?

I believe this is true for all compounds because melting and freezing are included in enthalpy of fusion, it just depends which way you are going for the particular problem or heating curve.
