To calculate total change in entropy (S) you add change in S of the surroundings and change in S of the system.

S total= S(system) + S(surroundings)

The total entropy is the entropy of the surroundings plus the entropy of the system

STOTAL = S1 + S2, which is equal to kB * W1 * W2

The total entropy (S total) is S(system) + S(surroundings)

The total entropy of a system would S1+S2 and in the equation it would be kB*ln(W1*W2)
