Third Law of Thermodynamics

Could someone please explain what exactly the Third Law of Thermodynamics is? I remember going over it in lecture, but I don’t quite understand it.

in class it was said that the third law of thermodynamics says that the limit of S as the temperature approaches 0 Kelvin equals 0. What that says is that the entropy at 0 Kelvin is 0, so it is perfectly ordered material

yes, so it is basically defining absolute zero on the entropy scale and this is important because the entropy determined relative to this point is the absolute entropy.

The third law of thermodynamics states that for a perfect crystal at absolute zero, the entropy is also zero.

Also, absolute zero is a theoretical concept. It may not be achieved experimentally. This is because from the second law of thermodynamics, we know that heat will spontaneously move from a warmer body to a cooler body, so the object that one tries to cool to absolute zero will try to take in heat from its surroundings.
