I'm confused about the relationship between Boltzmann's constant and the gas constant.

R = Nk, where N is avogadro's constant and k is boltzmann's constant.

Both are used to find entropy (S), but in this class, their usage will depend on the context (info given)

The equation involving the boltzmann constant (kB),
should be used when you're given the number of states and species,

while equations such as , which involve the gas constant R will be used when particular values such as volume are given
