What are the units of entropy? In the achieve HW the units are always changing.

Hi! The units for entropy are J/mol*K, which are not the same as enthalpy. Enthalpy and Gibbs Free Energy have the same units, which are kJ/mol.

△H (Enthalpy): kJ/mol
△S (Entropy): J/mol*K
△G (Gibbs Free Energy): kJ/mol

Hope this helps!

It is usually given in J.K^-1.mol^-1, at least in the textbook, but my understanding is that the mol portion is only necessary depending on what the problem is asking so it becomes interchangeable between J.K^-1 and J.K^-1.mol^-1. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Just don't forget to convert the units potentially if you use arithmetic with other units like enthalpy usually given in kJ.mol^-1
