Can someone explain and why vibrationally active diatomic molecules have a higher change in entropy than non-vibrationally active diatomic molecules.

The molecules that can vibrate have extra degrees of freedom which create more entropy.

Highly active molecules are moving more and are causing more entropy because their movement causes disorder while the less active molecules aren't moving as much and therefore aren't creating as much entropy.

Think about entropy in a manner of disorder. If things are not vibrating, they are stuck in place and orderly. However, if they are vibrating, there is more movement in general, meaning that there is more disorder and entropy.

If there are more molecules, there can be more movement, so more entropy change.
