9.35?

Postby Adriana Rangel 1A » Sun Feb 04, 2018 4:50 pm

"Container A is filled with 1.0 mol of the atoms of an ideal monatomic gas. Container B has 1.0 mol of atoms bound together as diatomic molecules that are not vibrationally active. Container C has 1.0 mol of atoms bound together as diatomic molecules that are vibrationally active. The containers all start at Ti and the temperature is increased to Tf. Rank the containers in order of increasing change in entropy. Explain your reasoning"

The solutions manual says it goes B<C<A?
I do not understand why?

there is an error in the solutions manual! check lavelle's list on his website

there is an error and C should have the greatest entropy because it has both vibrational and rotational energy
