The correct answer for this question is that 1-pentene (C5H10) has a higher entropy than cyclopentane (C5H10), because 1-pentene has a linear structure and is more "flexible". Is it always the case that linear molecules have more entropy?

it's not always the same, it depends on the different energies like rotational, etc.
