### Homework problem 9.25: orientations of a molecule

In order to solve homework question 9.25, you need to first determine the number of possible molecular orientations. I'm wondering if the only way to figure it out is to draw them all. Is there a math based way or any faster way to determine it?

Well in order to use the formula, s=klnw, you need to know the number of orientations of a compound. To solve for degeneracy, I use # of orientations^# of molecules.

You don't necessarily have to draw out each form, but having a model of at least one of them will help you visualize how many different arrangements the molecule has. Drawing all of them can check your answer if you have time.
