q vs delta H

Postby Hannah Krusenoski 2L » Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:05 pm

Can q and delta H always be used interchangeably or only in certain situations? For example in #9.15 in the homework q/T = delta H/T.

They're different -- q is heat, and deltaH is change in enthalpy, so they shouldn't be interchangeable.

deltaH is equal to q at constant pressure.
