Delta S total

During the midterm review, it was stated that when Delta S total is 0. Could someone explain how it can be zero and what the significance is?

ΔS total=0 when the system is at equilibrium or the process is reversible.

ΔSsys+Δsurroundings =Δtotal, so when ΔS total=0, you just move either ΔS sys or ΔSsurr to the other side, making one negative. It doesn't matter which one
