When we are given a temperature in degrees Celsius and we are required to convert to Kelvin, are we supposed to add 273 or 273.15?

I think either works, the solutions manual for the seventh edition I’m pretty sure uses 273

So far, simply adding 273 has worked well for me.

I would say just do 273K since that’s what’s done in the textbook and in class.

273 K should be fine. It also helps if you look at the overall sig figs required for the specific condition.

You can use 273 because it is an estimation but make sure you use sig figs
