i was reading the solution and i was wondering why do you have to find the entropy in three steps rather than two?

In general with state functions, if you're asked to find them at a temperature that's not at it's boiling point, etc., you'll always have three separate steps. The first is to calculate, in this case, the entropy required to reach the "normal" temperature at which a process occurs from the one in question. Then, in cases where there is vaporization (which I think this is in reference to), you must then calculate the entropy involved in that vaporization process. Finally, we must then calculate the entropy to return the products of said reaction down to the target temperature. So there's three steps in total. Hope this helps.
