For this problem, the solutions manual uses delta S = nRlnT2/T1 to solve for change of entropy. Why do they use this formula, because I thought the formula was nClnT2/T1, and C would be 5/2R since it is constant pressure?

I think you have to calculate the ΔS due to change in temperature and change in volume separately for this problem
