standard molar entropy vs standard entropy of formation

when would you use the standard entropy of formation vs the standard molar entropy formula to calculate the standard reaction entropy.

Standard entropy of formation is for the entropy of a substance at standard conditions in general and standard molar entropy is the amount of entropy in 1 mole of the substance

You can use standard molar entropy only if you know the amount of moles of the substance.
