Self Test 11.5A Standard Gibbs

Postby Rachel Colbath 2G » Sun Jan 31, 2016 3:30 pm

"Use the thermodynamic data in Appendix 2A to calculate K from the value of for the reaction
N204(g) -> 2NO2(g) at 298K."
Which element of the reaction do I look up for?
Is it delta G formation of NO2? If so, do I multiply that by 2?

I think you have to find the Gibbs free energy of formation of both N2O4 and NO2, then use the formula to find the answer. Yes, you also would have to multiply the delta formation of NO2 by 2.
