## Cp^n and Cr^n

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \Delta H^{\circ} - T \Delta S^{\circ}$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= -RT\ln K$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(products) - \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(reactants)$

### Cp^n and Cr^n

On page 42 of the course reader, Lavelle shows that (Cp^n/Cr^n) is equal to K in the equation Gp^o-Gr^o= -RTlnK.

What exactly does Cp^n and Cr^n stand for and how would we find/calculate the Cp^n and Cr^n of the reactants and products?

The C means the concentration of the solution, n is the number of moles, p is products, and r is reactants. So Cp^n means the (concentration of the product)^(number of moles of product) and Cr^n means the (concentration of the reactant)^(number of moles of reactant). Hope this clears it up!

He only used C because we were talking about an aqueous solution in this example so it stood for concentration rather than using K in the other equation for a gas
